A California native, Thomas J. Meagher has practiced law since 2000. His field is criminal law in California. He began as desk counsel for an equity derivatives execution unit for a large securities firm. He represented a small tech firm in the successful and seminal ICANN arbitration of case of Giambi.com. In 2006 he engaged in executive services for restricted-stock holders, affiliates, and control persons for a large Broker Dealer. His litigation involved FINRA arbitration. In 2010 Thomas began representing closely held corporations in transition as company counsel, and later he took up litigation in Trust and Estate, employment, and contracts before superior and appellate courts. He added administrative law defense of licensed contractors within CSLB forums. In 2016 he added criminal practice with focus on weapon charges under California’s Mulford Act. His criminal practice expanded to involve assault, child endangerment, theft, fraud, and other accusations. Today his defense practice is enhanced with the association of MJW Criminal Defense, adding Texas to the firm’s footprint and adding trial and case management expertise.

Thomas attended Cal Poly SLO as a Quantitative Economics major and completed his BA in Rhetoric at the University of California. He played rugby for the SLO Mustangs and the Cal Bears. He engaged post-graduate studies in Business at University of San Francisco. He earned his JD at San Francisco Law School and engaged post-graduate law studies in International Tax and Debt Instruments at Thomas Jefferson SOL. He earned many FINRA licenses over his career, including that of Securities Principal. He is married and enjoys the company of his two college-aged daughters.
